Academic Coaching
School involves almost every aspect of a child’s life: social interaction, executive function, extracurricular activities, and self-image development, just to name a few. When children struggle in one element of school life, those struggles can impact every aspect of their day.
Academic coaching involves looking holistically at a child’s experience in school: organization, approaches to homework, approaches to class time, approaches to time at home, and connecting to both peers and teachers. Each of these elements provides an opportunity for skill building.
The desire to learn is an innate characteristic of being human, and all preteens and teenagers can learn to see school as a place to improve, grow, and prepare for their own futures and success.
